Pierrat Elodie (France)

After she graduated with the best mention from Condé’s school (Paris) in photography, Elodie Pierrat was trained by the Australian photographer Vee Speers.

"Elodie Pierrat seeks to understand her identity, her roots and the pain buried deep inside her, which is reflected through her research on deportation and the death camps. Her focus on these testimonies shapes her ability to put words onto her inner scars. Furthermore, Elodie immerses us into a research on life before birth and this particular, liquid place.  The play of light, the fuzzy or anguished side of water’s aspect between the subject and the photographer contributes to the originality and poetry of her photos that are born from her bathing, each time unveiling another fragment of her identity and ours, indirectly."
