A Coruña, 1985.

After graduating in art history (with Erasmus in the Faculty of Literature and Philosophy of Perugia), and working for two years as a researcher at the Museum of Pontevedra, I began my training in fine arts with a master's degree in painting at the Libera Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma, as a consequence of a scholarship for the extension of artistic studies granted by the Diputación de A Coruña in 2009. The scholarship was renewed in 2011 and 2012, and I used it to take courses in engraving at the same university, as well as workshops of Stamperia del Tevere. From 2012 to 2014 I combined my studies with a job as assistant to the international artist Pietro Ruffo, in the Fondazione ex-Pastificio Cerere. In 2014 I moved to Poland to continue at the Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts in Lódz with my engraving training, which later continued in Galicia, thanks again to a scholarship granted by the International Center of Printmaking Art in Betanzos (Fundación CIEC).

In Spain, I showed my work individually and collectively in places such as the Sargadelos Gallery of Ferrol and Pontevedra, the Fundación Cuña Casas-Vellas, the Eugenio Granell Foundation and the Gallery About Art of which I am one of the in-house artists. As such, I participate on a regular basis in different projects such as the Room Art Fair in Madrid and others in Italy with the Galleria 20 Art Space, the Monumental Complex of Santo Spirito in Sassia, the Rome University of Fine Arts and, as a guest artist, at the Kokeshi Rebel Fest (Italian Festival about the feminine vision of culture and oriental art). In 2012 I won one of my most relevant awards, "Foreign Promise" at the Italian International Prize Limen Arte.

Other countries where my work has also been exhibited are Poland, in 2014, at the Strzeminski Academy of Fine Arts of Lódz, Sweden, 2015, at the 6th International Lithographic Simposium of Tildaholm, and Greece. In 2016 I earned the award “Novos Valores” granted by the Diputación of Pontevedra. I then travelled to Greece and stayed from February until August 2017, at first in Athens and in Heraclion in a residency at the art center “The Lakkos Project”, where my latest work is shown at an individual exhibition named “Ménades”. I also collaborate in a project promoted by the art center to rehabilitate the city’s shanty towns through art, performing two murals.

As a muralist drawer, I also contribute with a large art piece in Spain in September 2017, at the Ferrol’s Meninas de Canido Festival. As an illustrator, I have drawn for Spanish publishers such as Kalandraka, as well as for the Italian and Spanish music industry.

Multidisciplinary projects: theatrical scenery, music, cinema.

I also work in music, theater and cinema projects. Amongst those are works related to the world of dance and theater as a scenographer, the most relevant being “Pinceladas” from the Italian and Spanish company “Proyecto Esquina Flamenca”, premiered in Rome in 2014 at the “Festival Roma Semilla Flamenca” held at the Auditorium Parco della Musica.

Currently I am part of two multidisciplinary projects: with “Two Faces”, a band formed by musicians Ismael Berdei (pianist from the A Coruña dance conservatory) and Bruno Couceiro (percussionist), I create large-format drawings live during the group's performances. I am also a member of the film production company Annaniá, directed by the artist Fernando de France. We are currently in the shooting of our next film project, “If”, where I am playing the lead female role while I am also collaborating with my drawings, which are of major narrative importance to the story. I work in the art department and I am also in charge of developing everything related to the graphic design of the film and its promotional materials.The film will be released in July 2018.

- About my work -

Drawing, printmaking, collage and writing are the art forms I use to express my inner self. Dance and music are for me their best complements. I understand art as a way of life, and as a union between all its disciplines.

Self-referentiality, the word, the relationship maintained with the place where I am, the journey, the memory, curiosity; the life experience coupled with artistic experimentation, these are my sources of creation. It is starting from individuality that I analyze while representing aspects of the collective identity of mankind, of our emotions and our essence. I like to reach for the things that define and unite us via deep introspection art. I often do it through the female figure, which I treat in a symbolic way.

I use the art piece as a field for searching, learning and resolving, concluding. The creative process is essential in my work and in my results, it is the actual art piece itself. The presence of beauty surrounding everything is another permanent goal in my work, as well as the will to generate and share an aesthetic experience with the viewer.

I find it very interesting to use drawing and art as a dialogue with other people through different artistic languages. Collaborating with musicians, writers, dancers ... is a very enriching and growing part of my work and artistic creation.

I believe in the ability of art to intertwine with our lives and to show us deeper layers within ourselves, helping us to understand, transcend, experiment and feel them.

SERIES

I normally structure my work by forming series of drawings, using them to form artistic installations and compose stories, or chapters of what could be defined as a personal diary of images I crafted, resulting from my researchs and creative experimentation. I like to gaze at them very much, unveiling the dialogue that emerges between them, finding out how they seem to convey meaning, almost magically, and how they complete one another.
